THE RIGHT TO JUSTICE WHEN KILLED ON THE ROADS

My son Greg Taylor was killed on the 4 th August 2013 by an uninsured driver, who fled the scene, or hit and run, had previous convictions for motoring offences the last one being in 2012 for Class A drugs and driving with no insurance, his car was unroadworthy with defective brakes, lights, steering, no side mirror and 3 faulty tyres, he was also disqualified so should not have been on the road at all.

The driver Niall Darvell 38 years old was given 200 hours community service and two suspended 6 month sentences to run together. My son Greg was 19 years old, taxed, mot and insured and had done nothing wrong on the night. Niall Darvell sped up as Greg drove past on his motorbike, and knocked the back of Greg's bike causing him to lose control and subsequently die. The driver was offered a plea by Exeter court and was only charged with Death by inconsiderate driving and Death whilst uninsured.

I would like to see a change in the law as at the moment as Gregs death is not serious enough as was stated, and then amended by the attorney generals office, i cannot appeal the leniency of this pathetic sentence.

1. A starting point for all drivers who cause a death on the road of 5 years, so anyone who LOVED the person who was so tragically killed will know that if nothing else the person who killed their loved one will be going to prison for a minimum of 5 years.

2 A minimum of 7 years when a driver flees the scene the charge if there is a DEATH should automatically be manslaughter,, else there is no reason not to stay and help. The judge SIMON CARR said that in Greg's case the driver was frightened that is why he fled the scene. NIALL DARVELL was not to frightened that when he returned to his house after running my son off the road he then wiped all IMPACT MARKS from his own car in order to hide any evidence !!!!!

Please share and sign so that no other family have to go through what we have been through, expecting a long custodial sentence only to see the driver of the car smirking and his parents seemed jubilant as he walked a free man from the court, we as a family have a life sentence, NIALL DARVELL had no sentence.
