Earlier this month, Ringling Brothers Circus announced that it will finally phase elephants out of its circus. UniverSoul Circus needs to do the right thing and follow their lead! They need to hear from animal lovers and potential customers like you - please sign and share this petition today.
It has become more and more apparent that circus animals are often subject to cruel and abusive treatment, including at UniverSoul and especially behind the scenes. Sometimes it even happens right in the ring.
According to WTVR, UniverSoul Atlanta circus goers witnessed this kind of abuse firsthand when Beau, an elephant performer, did not want to leave the ring. They say Beau looked terrified as his handler used a "bullhook" to get him to move. A bullhook is a sharp tool - WTVR even called it a weapon - that looks like a fireplace poker. Beau was hit on the body and stuck in his mouth while a stunned crowd looked on. It took 45 minutes and the assistance of another baby elephant to get Beau to move.
These instances are all too common - yet Groupon is enabling them by partnering with UniverSoul for special promotions. That means UniverSoul is back in the news, and it's the perfect time to pressure them to follow Ringling's lead!
Wild animals were not put on this earth to be abusively trained for entertainment. They are meant to survive in their own natural habitat with their own families. Be a voice for these animals and save them from abuse - sign the petition to UniverSoul today!
Stop using elephants in your circus! It is a form of exploiting these animals.
We strongly urge the UniverSoul Circus to follow the lead of Ringling Brothers and no longer use elephants in any circus performances. Allegations continue regarding the abuse of elephants, which was clearly evident during an actual performance with Beau the elephant in Atlanta. It is time to set a good example, treat wild animals the right way, and permanently take all elephants out of your circus performances!
