New Jersey Democratic Senator Cory Booker is refusing to endorse his party’s call for the White House to revoke Jared Kushner’s security clearance following reports that Kushner tried to set up secret communications with Russian officials.

The problem? Kushner and donors affiliated with him have donated thousands of dollars to Booker’s campaigns over the years.

During Cory Booker’s Senate run in 2013, Kushner donated $41,000 to Booker’s campaign, while his wife, Ivanka Trump, hosted a fundraiser for him. Kushner also gave $20,000 to Booker’s mayoral campaign in Newark in 2009.
