Demand the end to degrading dress code

The dress code,is degrading and humiliating it drags girls and boys out of their classroom because it doesn't fit the needs of the school. I understand a common since dresscode,, but i think taking things like off the shoulder tops,sport shorts,jean shorts, or ripped jeans is kind of to far. Some kids cannot afford the clothing that meets criteria or maybe they transfer to a new school and the dress code is way more drastic and they have to use their clothes from the previous school, and maybe it doesn't fit the dress code, and yes the school can provide clothes, but they are embarrassing and i have personal experience, i was made fun of for school given clothes, it was hard to get through the day without crying. I just hope the schools know that the dress code isn't helping anyone, it's not only taking their time but is degrading their self esteem


Dress Code also can take time from our education. The amount of time for your teacher to pull you aside, the walk to the office, the wait if a teacher isn't present, and the counselor to record the data and talk to you about the rules, then finally get you a change of clothes. By the time you make it back to your class you most likely missed a lot of the lesson or in my experience a whole class period. don't stop kids from getting there education just to fit a strict criteria. They Are children not adults
