Terminate Purposeful Injuries in Sports

On October 2nd, 2015, high school tight end Davis Lambert went out for a pass and was severely injured while doing so. He took a hit to the head which knocked off his helmet and knocked him to the ground, leaving his head open for an even harder blow from the ground. He was later evaluated off the field and had received a concussion. The opposing player that hit Davis Lambert was only penalized and removed from play.
Our youth of today are the future of tomorrow. Why should our youth and high school athletes endure these serious injuries? They shouldn't. If the NFL is receiving lawsuits from former players who played in games with a concussion, why should our youth and high school athletes take a greater risk? I myself have had a concussion before, and if you've had one before, you know where I'm coming from. Players that do these things don't just need a slap on the wrist, they need a real punishment.
I am writing this petition for Davis Lambert because he could've been a lot more seriously injured than what everyone thought. We need strict penalties for serious blows like the blow Davis took. What I think should be a punishment is that the game is called right after the hit and the team that delivered the blow should lose that game. The team that took the blow should take the win and move on through the season. The player that delivered the blow should be suspended for at least three games. If you want your son to be safe on the football field during Friday Night Lights, support this petition.
