Contact Rep. Sacia and the rest of the Illinois State Legislature to remind them that the people of Illinois have already spoken on this matter and the concensus is that the general public will not abide horse-slaughter;
The bottom line is that Mr. Sacia is trying to say that our pet horses are livestock and are therefore not afforded the same protection as our pet cats and dogs. He would allow them to be butchered in a horrendous manner and tell us that is is all monitored and humane. The State of Illinois has 3 or fewer Veterinarians. They are simply not able to monitor the sacrifice of horses on a one on one basis as Mr Sacia would have us believe. He doesn't even believe in slaughtering his own horses. He would have them euthanized. Why, then, would he be the driving force behind a bill he doesn't really support? What is really going on here?
Please sign and make your voice be heard for the horses to be cruelly affected here. Thank you.
