The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has plans to repave and restripe Sherwood Hall Lane in Alexandria, VA from Route 1 to Ft. Hunt Road. But these plans are leaving our children and families in danger by leaving out a desperately needed crosswalk.
There are currently no crosswalks from Parkers Lane to Ft. Hunt Rd. This puts students of Hollin Meadows school and other residents in danger. We need the crosswalk as a speed deterrent and safety measure for those families trying to bike or walk in the area.
Please sign this petition today to ask VDOT to add a crosswalk to their plans to repave Sherwood Hall Lane.
A Public Information Meeting on the Sherwood Hall Lane Repaving and Revised Pavement Markings Project will be held at the Mount Vernon Governmental Center (Community Rooms), 2511 Parkers Lane, Alexandria on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.
