Washington voters were fooled into thinking they were supporting universal background checks. That there was some “loophole” causing hundreds of deaths. Initiative I594 was touted as keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.
Criminals DONT submit to background checks - only we law abiding do
I594 has done none of that. Here are the facts:
I594 was 18 pages of convoluted rules and laws designed to try and turn safety conscious, law abiding gun owners into criminals. Why? Because a convicted criminal cannot own firearms
I594 does nothing to stop criminals or address mental health. There is no way to enforce it and law enforcement agrees.
The anti-gun movement says they respect a person’s 2nd amendment rights but keeps trying to get bills passed to limit gun ownership and limit gun types. That is not respecting 2nd amendment rights.
Enough is enough. The American Rights Movement along with 10 other well-known WA Gun rights groups support the SAF in the Federal lawsuit. We will not surrender our rights now or in the future. Tell the court you too support the lawsuit and want I594 stripped of the abuses to gun owners throughout WA State.
