End Gun Violence

We believe that this action is important because the police can only make an arrest, it is up to the judges and prosecuters to keep them off the street. Now you talk about the drug dealers, and their money and no guns, but you turn blind side to people that are carrying guns making our streets not safe. Most of our murders are repeated felons with gun charges. The homicide rate is so high if your picked up with a gun and don't have a permit to carry 20-50 for you and life for lives taken.

To whom this may concern:

The homicide rate in Indiana is THROUGH THE ROOF! IT’S only going get worse if the police is not doing the killing then why come the people are not being brought to justice? Then the detectives need help solving the unsolved homicides/murders. They have a job of getting parents, family, and friends answers about their loved ones, so they can have some type of closure.

Greg Ballard has a vision that won't work in our town. Ballard has stated that Indianapolis crime was declining and homicides are down. How can crime be declining when in 2014, it was 143 plus murders? Since Aug. 26, 2015 it's been 91 homicides.. What's also sad is the judges in the courtroom, alone with prosecutors are giving these repeated felons too many chances. So now its seem to be too many homicides, that the detectives can not keep up with them.

On Saturday, September 19th, a year ago my son Robert Earl Hoskins III was shot and killed by a gun man, while he was outside with his friends. The stories that I hear are troubling to my heart and mind. Only for one reason there has not been any arrest and they act like my son’s life don’t matter. It’s the detective, name Mark Prater. Mark Prater has been the only detective that had been working my sons case, it's clear that he is overwhelmed with work. I went to see him personally at his office after reaching out to his cellphone and not getting a answer, about my sons case.

So as i'm standing there waiting on him up front, i call his phone to let him know i'm there to see him, instead of him answering the phone he picks it up and put it on top his computer/desk. Something a mother should not have to experience. When he came out he asked me was i watching through the window, I replied and said “ it doesn't matter, let's talk”. That's just one of the things that i see that is lacking of care and staying in contact. I have reason to believe that someone out there knows something and is scared to speak up and say something. I have reason to believe that i'm not the only person that feels this way.

Something has got to change, Indiana is better than this, I was born and raised and i'm not moving. FIX it judges and prosecutors! The community is fed up with all the killings/murders.

How many more dead bodies does Ballard need before he realize that we need tougher discipline such as....

LIFE SENTENCE FOR LIVES TAKEN

50 YEARS FOR PEOPLE CARING HAND GUNS, WITHOUT PERMIT/LICENSE

LIFE SENTENCE FOR THE INTRUDERS TOO, BECAUSE WHAT THEY DID ONCE THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN
IF YOU ARE PICKED UP WITH A HANDGUN, YOU GET 20-50 YEARS FLAT..

Thank you so much for helping me make a change.
