Book bags During School Hours

With over 1,000 kids at Lakeside Middle School, a students' belongings can be lost anywhere in the school. However, if kids were able to carry their book bags around school all day, this problem would not exist. Of course, many students have the same book bags as other students, but all those students need to do is take a Sharpie and write their name on their book bag. As a student at Lakeside, I see many students trip and fall on a daily basis, rushing to and from classes. What is even worse, is that these kids are carrying books, papers, and binders. The papers, books, and binders proceed to spill on the ground, causing the other students to trip and fall on top of the student that dropped their belongings. I see this happen at least 5 times a day. The thing that makes me mad is that the kid that fell, is stuck picking up all their belongings, and then rushing to get to class on time. If students were allowed to use their book bags during the day, this would not happen as much as it does. Kids like using their book bags because it makes them feel like their belongings are more protected, sealed inside a bag instead of being out in the open. From personal experience, I would feel much safer with my supplies inside my bag rather then on a desk where anyone could take it all. Considering that most students have phones, it is probably better for the students to keep something worth a lot of money inside their bag. Lockers are much safer, but when students go to connections, they can't run from a classroom on one side of the school, to their locker on the other side. It waists class time, and no one likes being behind on work. Since most kids got really good quality book bags in elementary school, they probably still use them now. Whoever paid for the bag, probably isn't happy that it is stuffed inside a locker all day.
My goal, is to get at least 500 supporters. This may not seem like an important cause now, but I bet that in a few months you will be sick and tired of carrying all of your belongings around school for seven hours. As a student at Lakeside, I don't like carrying all my stuff in the hallway. Kids could easily run into me and my peers, causing us to be late to class because we had to pick up our stuff. Think about how important this is, then sign it so our arms don't fall off in the middle of the year.
