End Unfair Dress Codes Across the Nation!

Girls are becoming witnesses and victims of cheap slut-shaming at too young an age (not that it's ever okay). Dress codes teach no valuable lessons but instead promote male dominance. While this may sound like a stretch at first glance(believe me I know. I used to think so too), think of the message between the lines of the dress code. Because boys often have no trouble yelling their opinions, the jokes they make about a girl's outfit are easily noticed and misconstrued to where the girls are punished for dressing to their personality, while the boys remain undisciplined for these crude remarks. My problem isn't with the guys but with the school boards everywhere. In the school systems' attempts to avoid objectifying anyone, they have created an atmosphere where many girls feel constantly judged by their teachers of all people. The ones they're expected to trust with their futures. Being told you can't wear something, maybe one of your favorite outfits, just doesn't sound right. It puts your in a box, makes you feel ashamed when you did nothing wrong. I think boys should be taught how to handle themselves and be more respectful because the end result is just ridiculous.

"If you are sexualizing us, YOU are the problem" -no clue who said it first

P.S. I'm a strong believer in fashion so I'm bias, I admit, but it rings true anyway
