My solution to black lives matter/police brutality and racial profiling by our police officers within our communities is Make it mandatory that all Street patrol officers be from & have to have grown-up in those communities in which they serve.
It may take time to fully implement due to our precincts already being fully staffed with officers from other communities, so at first in the interm, assign each partner/team at least one officer from that Community.
For all street patrol officers with current positions in communities they didn't come up in, those officers should either be relocated to where they did or be placed behind desks or asigned anything within their current precincts
That doesn't put them directly on the streets, interacting with the community.
Of course there are pros and cons to this proposal but the pros outweigh the cons immensely. I imagine there could be some preferential treatment to those that have personal relationships with their police officers but all in all It will Create trust , Better interactions & relations Between our communities and they're serving officers.
