SAVE THE FINNISH WILDLIFE FROM GOVERNMENT'S RESTCICTIONS AND HUNT PERMITS

Finland is a small country, and we have quite a few species of wild animals here: bears, foxes, wolves, wolverines... And they are all under preassure from reindeer husbandry - to be killed. Reindeer deaths by beasts are compensated by  the govenment, but the amount is smaller than what the reindeer husbandries would get from a live reindeer as meat and fur.

Just the other week we had a TV discussion, one group defending the wildlife and on demanding in to be reduces almost to nothing. It ended in a tie. The nation is split in this matter, but only the Northwrn area is upset (the reindeer husbandy area).

The wild animals were in Finland much before we came here, they had land to ram and reideer and other animals to hunt. Now we keep pushing them further and further and into smaller and smaller habitats. The reindeer husbandry is getting bigger than ever and they want heads to fall: wolves, bears, wolverines. People and wild animals live next to each other, but the modern man does not know how to co-exist with them. The first thought is to kill.

I have been looking into the eyes of a bear and a wolf, and I felt respect and awe. I have been met at the tent's doorway by a reindeer sniffing my face, and it was lovely. And it was not an earmarked raideerl, it was totally wild. That isa how I would like our Northern nature to stay, wild and alive.

Our government is pushing the limits a bit too much, because it is only a matter of time when the EU will pitch in. Please, help keep Finland's wildlife alive and kicking. We need our beasts, they keep our wild nature clean and vibrant.

Finnish Government,

We signatories want you  to reconsider the position of wildlife in Finland. Too much is given in to reindeer hsubandry. It has grown to such proportions that it is inevitable for reindeer to be killed by wolves or wolverins at winter, since the bears are hibernating.

The Finnish wildlife is unique and can be seen as a national treasure rather than a threat to a livelihood. The number of each species is not to be defined by any official in Helsinki, but the experts, the hunters of the North and the wildlife guardians shoud have their say in the matter.

The whole world is against wildlife, because humans have settled in their habitats, and now the numers need to be regulated. Or do they? Finnish people have always lived close to our beasts, and yes, they have been a bother, but the modern regulation enthusiasim is going too far.A helthy ecosystem neest its beasts, otherwise we may lose muh more than a few wolves here and there. We need proper protection for our wildlife.
