Stop British Labs From Experimenting on Horses

Five United Kingdom laboratories are experimenting on retired racehorses and ponies according to Cruelty Free international. Animals are subjected to pain and having their glands removed. Horses are also deliberately subjected to pain in order to test pain medications. According to one animal advocacy group, 8000 experiments on horses were conducted in 2014.

Due to a glitch in animal rights laws, the animals can be purchased directly from their owners. That means that billionaire racehorse owners who tire of their prizes can sell them to be tortured. Please join me in asking the Universities of Liverpool and Bristol to cease all experimentation on horses and ponies.

Dear Universities of Liverpool and Bristol:

I was shocked to learn that experiments on horses in your country are not only legal, but continuing at a breakneck pace. Many of these experiments are painful and a terrible violation of animal rights. Horses have big brains and well developed sensations. Therefore, they keenly feel the loss of freedom and the subjection to pain that these experiments entail. Please cease all experimentation on horses and ponies.
