The Boy Scouts have always had a big space in the Dade County Youth Fair and can do anything they want. This year, there is a tower that reaches the ceiling and many big projects (THREE jets! and a plane).
My Girl Scout Troop (918) built a 10' x 10' campsite with a tent, firepit and chairs out of cookie boxes. The Youth Fair said we could not put it in because they said it is too big!
When my troop leader asked them why the Boy Scouts had so much space but the Girl Scouts didn't, they told us that the Boy Scouts were "grandfathered in". I speak for all Girl Scout troops when I say that it is not fair that the Boy Scouts have so much room, while we have two small rows of tables!!!
My troop has a plan to change that. We want to get as many signatures for our petition to give the Girl Scouts the same space as the Boy Scouts. Do YOU want to help and be part of that change? Sign this petition now! Please send to as many people as you can.

Hi everyone,
We did it!!! I met with the President & CEO of the Dade County Youth Fair and the Competitive Exhibits Directors this morning and presented my petition which had over 40,000 signatures. They were really nice and they agreed to give Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts the same amount of space!! I want to thank everyone who signed the petition and I want to thank the Youth Fair for stepping up and making the change!
