Nero is a 7-week old mixed breed of puppy that was found by a camp worker in Saskatchewan in Calgary. He is now under the care of the Calgary-based Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society in Canada. It appears that someone intentionally set this tiny young puppy on fire and left him to die. The puppy was doused with some type of flammable agent similar to tar and set on fire. How cruel and heartless can anyone be??????? I don’t get it!!!!
This poor animal is now fighting for his life in good care. He is suffering from severe burns to his entire face and neck. He is being treated with medications and antibiotics because there is concern about pain and infection. When found, Nero was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic in Calgary and underwent surgery to clean out all wounds. It appears that Nero may need eye surgery and already has damage to both ears due to the fire.
He is still in critical condition because of the damage brought on by from the fire. However, this little guy is a fighter and already playing with other dogs in his foster home. So many people have heard his story and want to give him a home but the focus in the area of Calgary to see if anyone saw anything that can lead to the capture of the abuser. There is an active investigation underway to identify and track down the abusers. Let’s fight for justice for Nero.

Government Officials and Law Enforcement in Calgary, Canada – Please be diligent in the investigation of this case of horrible animal abuse. It is extremely important that the abuser(s) do not go free to repeat these types of acts. Anyone who can do this to a poor defenseless animal will easily repeat such acts on children and other humans. Please gain justice for the suffering that Nero had to endure at the hands of these beasts, find them and punish them to the full extent of the law!!!
