Demand the termination of Lizz Winstead

To Comedy Central, The Daily Show, and Lizz Winstead:

     We are writting to let you know that we are boycotting your show and station for as long as Lizz Winstead is employed by you and allowed to air her show on your network.  On May 20th, 2013 Ms. Winstead tweeted " This tornado is in Oklahoma so clearly it has been ordered to target only Conservatives", shortly after Moore, OK was devastated by an F4 tornado.  This tornado caused tremendous damage and significant loss of life, including that of numerous elementary aged children.  As it stand at this time the death toll is 51, 20 of which are children, which is expected to rise as recovery efforts progress.  While we understand that Ms. Winstead has issued an apology, we  find the apology to be as insulting as the original tweet.  She stated that she made a political joke before the devastation was revealed, however, had there been no loss of life,  to make a joke about a devasting force of nature, such as a tornado, we feel is still clearly unacceptable.  The people of Oklahoma and in tornado alley still suffer great loss everytime a tornado touches down and to make light of their fear and suffering is an act that is cruel, hurtful, and not humorous.
    Unfortunately, Ms. Winestead clearly did not stop there, for when an Oklahoma follower of hers tweeted "as an Oklahoman, I don't think this was something that would result in my continuing to follow you.". Ms. Winstead's response was "If it's not OK to YOU for me to combine news stories to point out hypocriscy AND I'm not making fun of victims u should Unfollow". We are asking you to recognize that Ms. Winstead was clearly out of line, overly cruel, and as shown in the above tweet, not remorseful. We are asking that you remove her as stated above from your network and show. Many of us enjoy your network and many of the shows you broadcast as well as the Daily Show, however, we cannot in good conscience support a network or programming who does not hold accountable their staff that so terribly insults and demeans such a terrible tragedy. We are certain that you do not want this type of behavior to be representative of your network and programming nor would you want add further insult to those affected by these tornadoes and hope to see that you will listen to your customers and remove Ms. Winestead.
