Dog Park for Miami Lakes

Has anyone ever wondered why there isn't an enclosed dog park in the town of Miami Lakes? I own a Siberian Husky that is just over a year old and is always in the mood to play. After a while, she's gotten really bored of running in circles in the backyard. The only dog park nearest to my house is the Amelia Earheart Bark Park which is located 9.2 miles away from my house. (According to google maps, it takes approximately 17 minutes to arrive by car.) I can't seem to understand why in the town I live in, where I see many people walk their dogs every morning and night, there is no space dedicated for our pets.

Here are a couple reasons why I think a dog park would benefit the town of Miami Lakes:

1. The most important reason would be to exercise our dogs regularly which would be able to help them remain healthy. It would reduce stress and anxiety that our pets build up at home. A walk for some dogs just isn't enough.

2. Our dogs would be engaged in social activities meeting new dogs and people. A dog that is social is less likely to express fear toward a person and prevent any type of negative behavior on someone.

3. The park can provide a space for handicap dog owners to take their dogs when they do not have the ability to walk them. (Providing shelters, benches, and shade.)

4. A friendly community amongst dog owners can be created, building friendships and a place for new dog owners to learn responsibilities and have access to experienced owners for any questions they may have.

5. Lastly, the residents of our community would not have to drive to neighboring cities to fulfill their dogs needs, thus decresing the chance of taxes being spent in those cities.
