Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get authorities to punish the teen appropriately for killing a school mascot, a bobcat and then hanging it for all to see on a goalpost. Despite the age of this teen, he needs to be held accountable for his actions with fines, community services and mandatory classes on proper respect and care of animals.

A rivalry between two high schools in Tennessee was taken too far when police said a student killed a bobcat before stringing it up by its neck on a goalpost. A 16 year old from the Coffee County Central was charged with killing the bobcat of season when students from the rival school Tullahoma High School found the animal, dead and hanging from their football goalpost.

Both schools were scheduled to play an annual football game that following game after the Friday after the incident. A Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency spokesman stated “That is not a good way to treat a critter for a prank, that’s for sure.” All this teen got was a slap on the wrist and $50 fine! This is not punishment enough to teach anyone that animals are not just things that deserve such deplorable treatment. Tullahoma & Manchester TN Judicial Systems - The teen who killed a rival school mascot bobcat and then proceed to heartlessly hang the poor animal to the other teams football goalpost as a type of gag needs to face the consequences. A $50 fine is not an appropriate repercussion to teach this young person the severity of his actions. You need to consider some stiffer fines, extensive hours of community service, especially supervised service in working with animals and lastly he should attend mandatory courses or classes on proper respect and care of animals. He needs to be retrained and educated in knowing that animals are not just things that should be subjected to any type of abuse, neglect and cruelty.
