ConAgra Foods - Be specific with your labels!

Have you noticed that some ConAgra brands list general ingredients on their products? For instance, Chef Boyardee cans list "spices" as a general ingredient.

Recently, my family opened a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli to find that the the "spices" in product caused throat irritation and even caused one member to have an asthma attack.

There needs to be truth in labeling! Consumers need to know if chili powder, cumin and other possible irritants were used in making the product.

According to the ConAgra FAQ site: "All major food allergens are shown on the ingredient list of our products and/or will be noted in a "Contains" statement just after the ingredient list.

Major food allergens, as defined by the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act, must appear on the packaging. These include eggs, fish, milk, peanut, shellfish (crustacean), soy, tree nuts and wheat. All major food allergen ingredients will be listed in the ingredient statement and will be noted in the “Contains” statement if they are included in flavorings or spice mixes.

Our recipes change from time to time, so we encourage you to check both the ingredient list and "Contains" statement each time you buy a product."

This just isn't enough! Please sign this and let them know we want to know what is in their products!
