Utility Trailers coming unhitched and slamming into school buses (7) in 2016 and since 1975 over 24,510 deaths and counting when loose trailers collide into innocent unsuspecting families. Absolutely no reason to have trailers come unhitched and defective flying tires and rims to simply cause death and destruction.

It's time for NHTSA to mandate a nationwide safety benchmark nationwide for all trailers and hitch systems.
Therefore, in light of the tragic and unnecessary countless loss of lives which delays in loose utility, horse and boat trailers safety standards have already cost, as well as the continued tragic and preventable loss of life sure to occur if decisive action is not taken now, the signers of this petition:
1. Call on President Trump to immediately sign a Vision Zero Executive Order to authorize Vision Zero rulemaking policies which will impact all DOT safety regulations and save more lives;
2. Call on DOT to act immediately and apply Vision Zero rulemaking principles by crafting a utility trailer and hitch system final rule -- with crash test-based performance standards rather than "Voluntary Standards based design standards "The Industry AKA The Fox Is in charge of the Hen house"
