Tell NJ Congressmen to Swear Off NRA Funding!

U.S. Congressmen have accepted over 3 million dollars in NRA funding since 1998. As a citizen of New Jersey for over 25 years, I am concerned that New Jersey Representatives Scott Garrett and Leonard Lance have received $24,500 and $1,000 from the NRA, respectively.

Both Garrett and Lance are actively working toward weakening gun control in New Jersey, despite Garrett's statement of sympathy toward the Orlando nightclub shooting victims, and Lance's claims of being a "moderate." Accepting large financial gifts from a gun advocacy group might be biasing their stance on gun control, pressuring them to take extreme right-wing positions on the matter.

With mass shootings becoming a regular occurrence in this country, politicians should no longer allow the NRA to buy their votes with financial gifts. Please sign the petition to urge NJ Congressmen to stand up for integrity and swear off NRA funding!

I am concerned that you have received a combined $25,000 in financial gifts from the NRA.

I understand that you are actively working toward weakening gun control in New Jersey. I am concerned that accepting large financial gifts from a gun advocacy group might be biasing your stance on gun control, pressuring you to take extreme positions on the matter. As long as you continue to accept gifts from the NRA, I will question whether these gifts have an effect on your gun control agenda.

With mass shootings becoming a regular occurrence in this country, politicians should no longer allow the NRA to buy their votes with financial gifts. I respectfully urge you to stand up for integrity and swear off NRA funding. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
