Why No Help for the Exotic Animals?

Did you hear about the elephants that were massacred in a supposedly 'safe sanctuary?

Did you catch the story about the cheerleader, from Texas, who went hunting and 'supposedly' killed a lion and a leopard?

By the way, did you see that Ted Nugent is yelling at people who even dare question the fact that he hunts?

Finally, did you notice that just because you proclaim a love for animals people automatically assume that you're some kind of freakish PETA member who doesn't eat meat, hates fur, etc., etc.

More than anything in the world, I love cats (all kinds) and exotic cats happen to top the list. Tigers, which are my personal favorite, have decreased by 50%. Poaching is the main cause of its demise and the black market is running wild with tiger merchandise. Also, that traditional Chinese medicine never seems to lose the appeal among the masses. However, I'm not telling you something that you don't already know.

But, moving along I could actually sit here and go on and on about why all of these cats are in trouble, in the wild. What is disturbing is the fact that people are not just killing these exotic cats indiscriminately but elephants, rhinos, and gorillas seem like they can't escape the human's wrath. It's hard to figure what some of these people are thinking! But one thing is for sure, if you even speak one word against them (especially if they're American) you'll never hear the end of it. All of this has me more concerned than ever. What can you actually do to stop this? How can you change the attitudes of some and get them to wake up and realize that a lot of nice animals are going to vanish really soon.

Could the answer be compromise? Yes, it should be but it's never going to happen and I'll tell you why. In society today, animal groups like PETA take the credibility of anyone trying to save these animals out the window. The Internet has made people unoriginal and not willing to think for themselves. If people here PETA or any other group's name, people will automatically assume that every single animal lover is some kind of freak who wants to shove their beliefs down their throats. People don't want to hear rational opinion. All animal lovers are painted with one brush and that is 'Don't listen to them, they're in PETA-ewwww.'

Here's what society has to learn, just because someone criticizes the cheerleader from Texas for killing off exotic animals doesn't make their opinion worse that this woman's overall actions. (Note: her name won't even be printed here.). If someone makes a comment about people hunting endangered animals in general, does not and never did make them hate hunting or hate eating meat. What that makes them is a concerned human being. What I get tired of is the fact that someone in this country can go and kill a lion, rhino and a leopard, show off, get criticized and turn herself into some kind of victim. When if you dare say some kind of reprimand towards someone like this, a lynch mob goes after you. Now, what does all of this mean?

What this means is that a lot of animals will disappear faster than usual. It means that hunters of exotic animals will keep going because they keep getting rewarded for it. I don't know about you but I like tigers, leopards, rhinos and elephants. I want someone to take a stand against this. I want people to wake up and get it through their arrogant heads that their way isn't the only way.
