I was appalled to read of the state of Oklahoma allowing horses to be killed for food to be exported abroad from America. I understand that their meat may serve to feed others, but I am concerned that a pattern of abuse may become evident as a result of greed. Will this set the trend for other states as well? Is there anything we can do to make sure these majestic animals are not put down abusively because they are aged or feeble or because of the need for "depopulation"?
