Rainforests around the world are falling. One of the main reasons is because of the increasing popularity of palm oil. Palm oil plantations are replacing rainforests, just when we need them most. We can't afford to let the rainforests fall. Besides this, many endangered animals are losing their homes, and being treated as vermin. They are shot and killed if found on the plantation. If we continue to use palm oil in our products, animals such as the Sumatran Orangutan, Sumatran Tiger, and African Rhinoceros will disappear... forever. We can’t afford to lose these animals, or the rainforest. Please sign this petition to urge Tofutti, a vegan dairy-alternative company, to replace palm oil in all of its products.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to ask you to immediately remove, or at the very least, cut back palm oil in your products.
I absolutely love your products, and I love that you provide humane alternatives to dairy products. However, I also believe that the use of palm oil should be stopped or at least significantly cut back. I understand that palm oil is needed to make many products, but surely there must be a better way!
The killing of animals has upset many an environmentalist. We know that elephants, rhinos, and tigers have endangered the life of plantation workers, but this was only in a matter of self defense. Farmers are taking over their living space and giving them no choice but to defend themselves. If the palm oil farmers continue taking over and harvesting, issues like this will keep popping up, and I would prefer all humans and animals live safely with no deaths. It is a very steep price to pay to lose our land's natural beauty just so that we can make our food slightly cheaper.
