REASONING WITH THE STATES ATTORNEY AND JUDGE SO THAT THEY DON'T SEEK OUT CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT FOR ALEXIS LOWERY AND JATAVIA SINGLETON FOR ALLEGED ANIMAL ABUSE

Alexis is already being accused of kicking a stray cat in connection to a video uploadediting to facebook allegedly by Jatavia Singleton. Their names and faces have been all over the local news and social media. And now we have people actually advocating for them to receive the harshest punishment. This is truly upsetting. The people who are fighting so strongly forecommend one life are willing end two in the process.

They're claiming that the stray cat could possibly be injured or maybe dead, but the problem is that they don't even know that to be fact. A defense using words such as "possibly" and "maybe" should not be used in determining the fate of someone's life. Did they forget that they are dealing with two valuable lives along with the stray. There must be a huge disconnect if they expect the criminal justice system to prosecute fully and harshly base solely on speculation.

The overall goal of the criminal justice system is to ensure justice without bias. They are seeking vengeance and not justice. This personal vendetta they are pursuing is more in the range of civil courts. We can't allow this misuse of the system to ruin the two promising futures.

Have they also forgotten that these girls are human. They claim that Alexis and Jatavia have no remorse for the incident and none of them have the qualifications to make that assessment. They haven't even taken Alexis's recent losses in to account. She lost her grandmother and her child in the same year and isn't being shown any remorse. She has reason to be emotionally disconnected. And there is no proof that Jatavia isn't remorseful. They claim that she was in the video laughing, but she was never seen. The only one who can speak on the behalf of Jatavia's conscience is Jatavia.

These two young women have no criminal record and are recent graduates, this incident is already going to hinder their chances of success outo in the feild. To heighten the punishment would just be adding insult to injury, again acting out of vengeance. They shouldn't even be punished, but if they are probation or having only a misdemeanor on their records fits the situation best. Probation has been proven as an effective deterrent from crime. It is their first offense and they deserve more leniency. Also understand that noe they must face the workforce and even potential colleges knowing that this incident hangs over their heads possibly closing doorstatement for them even if they aren't harshly prosecuted. Does the justice system still belive in public reformation.

The also make claim saying that Alexis and Jatavia's alleged actions are an sign of some sort of mental issue. If that's even true why would you want them to receive a cruel punishment and not any physiatric help you claim they need.

TO THE STATE'S ATTORNEY OFFICE OF MACON COUNTY ILLINOIS:

We understand what happened to the stray was wrong, but let's face the facts. Animals are hunted and consumed everyday, deer are hunt for sport, and other innocent creatures are used as test subjects in labs frequently. And it's all LEGAL. If animal cruelty is to taken seriously we must speak up for all animals and not just a selected few. Who are we to say which lived are more sacred. It's either all or nothing.

Alexis Lowery and Jatavia Singleton have both had their names tainted and drugged threw the mud. Any more than that is just cruel and unusual. The question is when is their punishment ever going to be enough for these vigilantes?
