Both the Criminal Code, and the Firearms Act contain offences and penalties for illegal possession or misuse of a firearm. Unfortunately these laws and acts do little, if anything at all, to decrease violence against people, property, and the animal nations of Canada. Society is deteriorating, and violence is increasing, and although the banning of guns will not erradicate violence completely, it is a first step in relieving the pressure of a volatile society, reducing public fear of violence, and will bring more peace of mind to law enforcement. Guns represent violence. There is no other purpose for guns. There are other weapons that can be used to cause harm or death and once we deal with guns, we can begin to address the other weapons. Please support a ban on all guns across Canada for the sake of our children, pets, and wildlife.
