Each june since 2009 in Yulin, China a festival is held, what this festival consists of is a week of festivities that consist of consuming dogs and cats, 10,000 dogs and 6,000 cats are stolen from local provinces crammed into small cages and tortured, the reason behind this is the Chinese believe that the more the animal has suffered the better it will taste. Prior to consumption the animals are boiled alive and die in excruciating pain.
Many petitions have been drawn up begging for the Chinese to show compassion and for this festival to not take place and all have been disregarded by the Chinese so a new tact is needed.
China like all countries thrive on trade, on export, on tourism.
Starve them. Don't buy their produce, if the label says 'made in China' don't buy it, avoid anything made in China. Don't visit China. Refuse to eat in chinese restaurants even.
Every penny spent on Chinese produce goes toward funding these festivals and by boycotting their produce we can damage their economy, once this happens they will have to negotiate terms and our terms are simple; stop killing and eating dogs and cats.
