This young lady should not have her future taken away because of a shirt.

A senior who was about to graduate at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, North Carolina was suspended for wearing a shirt that showed her collarbones.

This beautiful young lady should not have her future taken from her just because of a shirt, especially since the shirt was no where near being offensive or revealing.

Summer was told to change her clothes and she requested her mother be called before she took any action. The school couldn't get hold of her mother, so during a school assembly, the principal approached Summer, an honor roll student with a 4.4 GPA, and asked everyone to leave except her.

“[The security guard] was within five feet of me, he had his hand on his gun,” Summer said. “[The principal] said ‘I’m gonna give you an ultimatum. We have tried to call your mother. You either come with me to the control room to change your shirt or we will arrest you.”

Thankfully, Summer's mother called before she was arrested. But she was still given a 10-day suspension from school and was banned from all senior activities including high school graduation.

I think this is utter bull and the principal is completely in the wrong and should apologize to the student and definitely let her walk across the stage. Please sign this petition to try and help this young lady out. The link to her story is listed below:
