We do not need plastic full stop!
We all know the harsh effects it leaves on the environment our oceans and marine life, plant life it affects us all.
Truckloads of plastic is being dumped into our oceans every minute which breaks down into microplastics which collect and build up into toxic chemicals which end up in the food chain including the fish we eat.
UK supermarkets generate 1 million tons of plastic packaging each year which amounts to more than a quarter of the country's entire plastic usage.
Globally only 9 % of plastics are recycled leaving 72% to end up in landfill or the sea. Yet most supermarkets are keeping their heads down and hoping that the plastic storm will eventually blow over.
