Demand the end of Steam/Valve's monopoly over it's users.

For years, Steam has operated as it sees fit, likely due to it's reign over the PC Gaming community, rarely taking user feedback into account unless forced to.

Over the last few months, I, along with many other uses, past and present, have found a problem.

Like many others who share a computer, I share my Steam account with my family as a way of simplifying the process should we wish to share each other's games. Now, however, I'm moving out, and my family are getting their own computer. This presents a problem.

In it's current state, Steam does not allow you to transfer games from one account to another, a feature which other platforms have allowed for a while, simply by contacting Customer Service. This means that users who get a new computer, or have to reset it for whatever reason, could be lose out on their games, with some people losing hundreds or even thousands of pounds worth of games, extras and DLC. This also means that those in my position, who have shared access to a library, can lose out on games that other people have paid for. In my case, I have games like Elder Scrolls V, Fallout NV and others which, in this case, my brother has paid for, but will lose access to when I move away.

This, as many people know, is morally wrong.

I took a look at the Steam forums, and found that I am far from the first person with this problem. There are threads dating back as far as 2011 bringing up the issue, and Steam's response is always the same "Steam does not currently allow this. In order to play on another computer, you will need a separate account with separately purchased games. " This, clearly, has gone nowhere.

With the power of the Community, I hope to bring an end to this. Make your voices, and your wishes heard! End the stonewalling responses from the less than helpful support teams, and bring the power back to the Players!
