Around 6:45 PM on April 11. 2012 Michael Almony 59 of 3300 block of Old Gamber Road, took a kiiten and threw it under his Ford pickup truck, then proceeded to run the kitten over mutiple times.

An anonymous person turned in a video from a parking lot on Main Street in Reisterstown that shows the incident. The video was presented to police on May 12. The video is said to show, Almony throw the kitten on the ground next to a truck, got into the truck, pulled
forward to run the animal over, backed up and ran over it again, pulled
forward and backed up to run over it a third time. The kitten appeared to be a stray from a nearby litter.

Almony was charged with animal cruelty and animal mutilation. His trial is set for Sept. 5 at 8:30 AM courtroom 2 in Catansville. He was released on $10,000 bail.

Almony has been arrested and convicted of violent acts in the past, I believe these acts to of been domestic.

To whom it may concern

"This is in regards to the animal cruelty/mutilation case against Michael Almony (Case No.: 6C00358658), 59, of the 3300 block of Old Gamber Road, Finksburg, Maryland. As the video clearly shows, Almony threw a tiny kitten on the ground in front of his vehicle and proceeded to run over the kitten multiple times. We, therefore, respectfully request that, if convicted, the maximum sentence available under the laws of the State of Maryland be imposed. We further request that the D.A. Office not accept a plea bargain in this matter."

We consider this to be aggravated animal cruelty and should be treated as such. Mr Almony has shown a history of violence, and trouble with alchohol (in which we believe is no excuse). If the alleged acts  are found to be true and indeed fact, we ask that full sentence be asked for with the request that Mr Almony be denied future contact with any animal.

We thank in advance the Prosecutors Office for their consideration of our concerns and request in this matter.

Thank you.
