The NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry and anyone with two eyes and a brain can see how corrupt and inept officials are routinely influencing and often determining the winners of games.
Astronomical gambling revenues and the unfair maintenance of "star teams" for the interests of their owners no doubt play a key role in the NFL overlooking the problem. Meanwhile NFL fan interest is waning and revenues are dropping. College games are much more enjoyable, largely because they are football games played as they should be -- without overbearing officials stopping the play on every other down to assert their authority or even worse awarding certain teams bogus penalties or non-calls to increase the odds against them.
It's no secret that some officials are consistent in the abuse of their power because the NFL keeps track of them, yet they are rarely disciplined in any substantive way. If you are concerned about the decline of the NFL, stand up and demand that the Commissioner take decisive and effective steps to eliminate bad and intrusive officiating by eliminating bad officials.
