REPEAL THE PUBLIC HOUSING RENTAL PROJECT IN GREENWICH TOWNSHIP

The Greenwich Township Committee on April 2018, by resolution, adopted the 2018 Housing Plan Element & Fair Share Plan. This resolution permits the construction of a Multi-Family Low-Income Apartment Rentals Project on Block 26, Lot 2, off Dumont Road in Stewartsville, Greenwich Township, Warren County, NJ.

A group of Stewartsville Concerned Citizens are concerned with the lack of public input, lack of consideration of alternative plans and the negative effect that high-density multi-family low-income apartments will have on the community as a whole, and the environment it will disturb. Everything from taxes, to real estate values, to schools, to population density, to safety and traffic will be affected with the construction of this public housing project consisting of 121 apartments in 24 buildings. The addition of this tax exempt housing will likely cause the current residents to be hit hard with poor sales prices and increased property taxes.

Therefore,
We, the residents of Stewartsville, Greenwich Township, hereby request the 2018 Housing Plan Element & Fair Share Plan be repealed by the Greenwich Township Committee or that it be submitted to a vote of the citizens of Greenwich Township at the next general election on November 6, 2018.
