Relieve the Financial Burden of Healthcare in Retirement

Healthcare costs are one of the top financial concerns for people over 50 facing retirement. Medication, medical supplies and in-home care — the costs keep piling up, leaving many in an unstable position. Medicare is meant to help people out with concerns like these in retirement. But most Medicare plans don't cover the costs of assisted living or home health-care!

46% of caregivers spend more than $5,000 a year on elderly family members. 7% spend $50,000 or more! For many families with elderly loved ones, the burden of financing long-term care falls entirely on them.

It's no wonder that people aged 50 and older rate healthcare as a top financial concern. Medicare should alleviate these fears and provide wider coverage for those in need of long-term care in assisted living or at home.

With baby-boomers aging fast, the population of people aged 8- and over will reach 28 million by 2040. There's not much time to fix coverage for much-needed care!

Take action today and call on our government to expand Medicare coverage. Assisted living and home healthcare must be included for all plans!

Dear [Decision maker],

I am concerned that most Medicare plans don't cover assisted living or home healthcare costs. With our aging population, it's critical that we relieve the financial burden of much-needed long-term care.

That's why I'm urging you to expand Medicare coverage so that assisted living is covered for all in need of long-term care.

Sincerely,
