7 year old Josh Hardy of Virginia needs Brincidofovir, a drug made by Chimerex to live. He has battled cancer four times and is now recovering from a bone marrow transplant. During his recovery he has caught a virus and due to his weakened immune system it will kill him unless he receives the drug from Chimerex, which could clear up the virus within two weeks. The company, Chimerex, is aware of this precious boy's need for their drug but refuses to give it to him. They say they can't afford to, even though they just got $72 million dollars in federal funding. The drug hasn't been approved by the FDA as of yet, however, Chimerex has given it to hundreds of other patients in need under compassionate need; but they still refuse to save young Josh Hardy's life.
