Accomodation for rough sleepers

Rough sleepers in Guildford and Surrounding areas are being forced to sleep outside in all sorts of weathers due to various reasons of being homeless, with this weather now hitting in February/March reaching more than -11 these are deadly temperatures to be walking out in let alone sleeping in!  There are emergency places at this current time in Guildford as well as a night shelter already Number 5 Project, however these are a first come first serve basis and limited in beds,

Im wanting to stand up with many and open this petition to go forth to Guildford Borough Council to start acting FAST before lives become deaths due to weather or due to poor health,

Guildford Action is an Amazing Charity which helps those through the day centre-offers counselling, medical treatment, Washing clothes, offering showers and food etc however it is only open during the day,

So we as the community should pull together alongside the council and help those without the roof over their head, a bed to stay in at night untill they are able to move on and gain their confidence back, as I stated earlier anyone can become homeless for many reasons, we are all human and it's not fair to see those who are in need having to beg and sleep on the streets. 

There are plenty of abandoned buildings surrounding the area that can be used with tax payers money (as let's face facts we pay enough) to be restored and made comfortable for those without a home to stay in untill they are on their feet again with their own accommodations,

Each background story is different for those who have ended up being homeless and we are living in 2018 and with England supposedly being one of the richest country's we should NOT be witnessing or going through homeless'ness in any type of weather.

There should be more of a support within the system and the councils should want to try harder in order to help those who are vunerable and in need of a roof over their heads and not just a car park or shop door ways, 

In regards to some homeless people owning dogs, the accommodations that we are wanting to be made should too be suited to have dogs also, dogs are some of these people's only purpose in life.

If the Council would fund the appropriate building and refurbished the building, fundraising could be done amongst volunteers to keep the Shelter maintained and safe, there is enough people wanting to work within this line of work of helping others as most have been through such hard times or have had families or friends face these issues,

This is just to try and help the community and give a safe place to go to help those rebuild their lives and feel wanted again.
