Chest Camera's for all Law Enforcement in America

Have you seen police officers act with out regard for anyone but themselves? Do you feel like today's law enforcement officials feel like they are above the law instead of reinforcers of the law? What about real criminals walking away over falsified information, because it was a busy night and an officer forgot something on his/her paper work? Has justice failed you in anyway?

Why should you sign this petition? It's simple, today is a day of independance for all of America. It marks a day where the people stood up for the people and said enough is enough. It took millions of deaths of good people to bring us this day and this right to be free. That was then and this is now, times have changed and the violence has gotten worse. Our freedoms are being stripped by law enforcement officials who have no morals and no skills in conflict resolution.

Domesticated wars are brewing between the people and those who wish to supress our freedoms once again. This time the battlefield does not have to be our back yards. With todays technology we can reach out to one another with nothing more than words on a screen. We can reach out to one another much faster, no longer do we need a man on a horse yelling the british are coming. Today all we need is 1 person with 1 computer, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 monitor and 1 website to inspire millions.

Since this petition will go through ridicule from both ends of the arguement, I will provide a few reasons from both sides of the arguement showing the good that will be braught by this if it was to be made a law in the United States;

1. Police Brutality would decreases considerably. It's natural for humans and animals to be more cautious when they know they are being recorded. This is why when you record police officers on the job they get angry and tell you to turn off the camera even though it is your constitutional right to record them. It is unlawfal however to use that footage without the consent of those on it for any commercial reason. So strap cameras to the chest of every law enforcement official making them record their own actions through their own eyes.

2. Real criminals won't get away. It's late at night, a man is swerving on the road and you're a police officer. You radio in that you're attempting a possible dui stop and your location. The suspect pulls over after you turn off your lights. Backup has not arrived yet, but you decide to go to the car and speak with the suspect. When asking for his drivers licence and other information he open his glove box (where most people have their information) pull out a gun, shoots you in the face and you now lay there in a pool of blood, dying. The suspect peels off and backup finally arrives, but you're already dead! The license plate you ran through the database was an out of state plate and it also happens to be a dead tag or a stolen tag. When investigating the last owner of the tag you find that they were away on vacation in Hawaii and could not possibly of been at the scene. Guess what... A chest cam could have caught the face of your killer and brought justice to your family!

In closing I am no saint, I have both felony and misdemeanor convictions. I have been to jail for many different things both non-violent and violent. I have no reason to lie and nothing to gain from this law. I am just a man whose heart hurts for the families of victims of violence. We cannot bring those vicitims back, but we can help to make sure it doesn't happen again.
