Stop fishing the Giant Barb

The Giant Barb is a fresh water giant fish in Cambodia Mae Klong, Mekong and Chao Phraya river. The adult reaches a weight of 660 Lbs or about 300 kg , it is a migratory fish so it moves between different places according to breeding season, it is listed as critically endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for being fished for more than 90 % of its population.

The major threats are habitat loss that is caused by construction of a dam , pollution , over fishing and  there are only a few fishes who reach adulthood to breed and it is now extinct from the Chao Phraya river.
