For me and alot of people out there, our pets are beloved family members and treated as such.
So when you need to move or immigrate with your pets and are told that in order for them to travel by plane, they must be treated as luggage and cargo and be put in the NOT 100% safe cargo hold of the plane, your heart just drops. I feel that this is utterly inhumane as there are many cases of beloved pets dying scared and alone during their flights.
My dogs and i would have to fly Emirates and they do not allow pets in the cabin, and also Australia doesnt accept pets from the cabin when you land, and niether do alot of other countries. I would like all airline companies to change their rules and to create sections on the planes specially for people and their pets to fly side by side. The pets can still be in crates, as long as they can see that their human is with them and they can be comforted and checked on during the flight.
Or pet only airlines can be started where the pets are kept in their crates in the cabin and there are vets on board constantly monitoring all the animals.
Alot needs to change!
