The Minnesota State Fair is one of the most wonderful events in Minnesota every year.......it is a great opportunity to enjoy the agricultural, artistic and culinary products of Minnesota...furthermore, its a wonderful time to spend with family and friends, shop supporting local businesses, and meet our state politicians.......
However, nothing makes the fair less enjoyable than the frequent smell of cigarettes.....
Dear MN State Fair Managers ---
We the undersigned are writing to request that the starting in 2015 and moving into the future The Great Minnesota Get Together aka The MN State Fair go entirely smoke free.....
While we appreciate the efforts to make smokers less imposing on non-smokers, even this year attending the fair means having to smell the stench of cigarette smoke while eating, drinking, walking, etc.....
It is ironic in that the fair which has attractions promoting health of MN citizens and the environment continues to allow cigarette smoking which promotes neither......
If the fair must "have a space for smokers", we suggest a site outside the entrances that people can visit......keep the air pollution and the cigarette litter out of the actual fair........
