I was so saddened and shocked when I read that NJ allows people to bait, club, and kill mothers, cubs, and male bears. This was extremely disheartening because I remember as a child growing up in NJ the thrill of catching a glimpse of a bear in the woods- them not hurting us at all, and thinking what lovely creatures they were. Now hearing that hunters are killing hundreds of bears in a 6 day rampage so they can put a trophy on their wall really makes me physically sick to my stomach..alas bringing me to care2. While people are going to work, there are cubs crying for their mothers,not knowing where to get comfort or food, and more moms,cubs, and male bears getting clubbed to death or shot for no good reason. Not to mention how traumatic the aftermath of being hunted for 6 straight days must be to them.
It is so surprising that in a society where children are looked upon as having mental issues if they torture or hurt animals, it is deemed that it is ok if adults do it under the fallacy of "dangerous" animals or "too many". Perhaps if foxes, deer, and other animals were left alone, there would be enough food for bears, etc. so they wouldn't have to dig through garbages.( That was one reason that I read they were hunting them.) Please sign this petition to stop the bear hunts and save this majestic creature of God. Please be a voice for the voiceless. Please make them stop the hunt now and forever in every state.
