Petition to the FHSAA for new transfer rules & regulations...

Target:
High school sports fans, parents, coaches, administration & athletes.
The purpose of this petition is simply to collect electronic signatures in order to demonstrate the need of new rules and regulations that need to be implemented by the FHSAA involving the transfer of student athletes from one school to another when the transfer is not warranted.

During some online surveys, it has become relevant that followers of high school sports are concerned with the influx of transfers involving athletes that normally do not have any specific reason for the transfer.  Followers are in favor of some sort of rule effecting the eligibility of a student athlete for a set period of time that does not meet any specific need for their transfer.

A basic 9-12 month time period or a definite sport season and year of ineligibility is what most have agreed is needed to stop this influx of unwarranted transfers.

By signing this petition, you are agreeing that the FHSAA needs to implement new rules and regulations concerning the transfer and timing of such transfers of student athletes.

*We all know that their are certain cases where a student athlete must transfer and that such a case or hardship would be approved under any new rules and regulations set forth by the FHSAA.  This petition is not out to punish any athlete with the need to transfer.  This petition is out to stop the influx of unwarranted transfers!

The time has come to change the pandemic that is transferring to another high school just to have higher chances at state titles and college recruiting. It is unfair to the programs who lose the player and the programs who have to play the recipient. All in all, the transfer problem is the driving force behind "recruiting" in high school athletics. Private schools, despite paid enrollment, should not be exempt either. Too many athletes are abandoning programs and stacking in others just to win state titles and get recognized better rather than relying on their skills.
