Shopper's Drugmart is a Major Canadian Drugstore.

Costco is only selling this in Canada here is the website.

Holista is the Brand Name of the Shark Cartilage and it only sells in Canada.

LET'S SHOW THEM THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO TOLERATE THE DISREGARD TO THE ENDANGERED SHARK.!!

We the undersigned are appalled to the fact that you are selling and/or invested in the Shark Cartilage Product.

Sharks are being fished out of the ocean at an alarming rate for their fins(cartilage) to produce many forms of products and/or meals that are from a myth that they cure cancer. This Myth is wiping out the oldest species on the planet and you(Shopper Drug Mart, Costco, Holista, and Ontario Teachers Pension Plan) are apart of their demise.

This Product should be removed from your shelves immediately and a formal apology to the public of your disregard to the Shark who is inhumanely being killed just for its Fins.

Thank you.

This is issue is important to all of us -- I want to live in a world where people act with integrity and treat animals with respect and compassion -- not everything on earth is something for us to use and dispose of. Neither I, nor my family will ever purchase another product from Shoppers Drugmart while they support this heinous practice.

People need to realize human are not the owners of the planet, we are all part of a life cycle. Also we need to educate our generations and future generations about shark cartilage and other products that dont do a thing to prevent diseases and stop large corporations from profiting by lying.

i am a qualified advanced national geographic diver, the sea is my second home, for the aquatic life it is their only home and we have a duty to protect that home, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to be slaughtering our aquatic friends, especially for these quack products that probably dont do anything anyway,it is not just the stores that stock these products that we need to go after we also need to be educating the people that buy these products,if people stop buying these things then the market will dry up,having said that these uncaring money motivated killers will still carry on because they will always find other ways to sell shark and other marine based products, still we can only do our best for our aquatic friends, best wishes dave and sue.

This is despicable, SDM is a very profitable company and does not need to rely on the sale of shark cartilage for profit. Sharks are apex predators and we cannot afford to lose them as they are a vital part of the ocean as well as the overall sustainability of others. Many studies have already proven that this product is ineffective therefore why contribute to the downfall of an entire species.

Only an immoral company would use animal parts in this way, particularly an endangered animal like the shark. It's time that companies such as yours put species survival before profits.

100 million sharks are slaughtered every year. As the top of the food chain, their role is extremely important. Without sharks 80% of Earth's life is in danger. The IUCN (World Conservation Union) includes more than 80 shark and ray populations or entire species on its Red List of Threatened Species; this number continues to grow as more species are assessed. Today, overfishing and worldwide demand for shark products has led to severe declines of shark populations in recent decades and are pushing sharks to the brink of extinction Throughout history, sharks have been hunted for their meat, fins, oil, teeth, hides, and more recently, their cartilage skeletons. Advertised as having numerous curative powers, including cancer fighting agents, shark cartilage is ingested based on the commonly held belief that sharks do not get cancer. This is yet another shark myth. Just like humans, sharks do get cancer and the number of documented cases of shark cancer is growing. Unfortunately myths and misconceptions such as these have led to the decimation of many shark species. Despite recorded cases of shark cancer and evidence that shark cartilage has no curative powers against cancer, sharks continue to be harvested for their cartilage. Despite their fierce image, sharks are among the most biologically vulnerable creatures in the ocean. They are simply not equipped to withstand intense fishing pressure. Along with closely related skates and rays, sharks grow slowly, mature late, and bear few young. These traits hamper sharks’ ability to recoup losses brought on by overfishing. Depleted shark populations can take many decades to recover. Sharks are highly intelligent. They have short term and long term memory. Some my live well over a hundred years. However as long as shark hunting is allowed, we may lose this vitally important being. 90% of sharks are already gone. There is absolutely no point in wiping out this magnificent animal for the sake of a "cure-all" that is nothing more than a myth. The looming extinction of all sharks on this planet is very real and MUST be stopped!

shark's are a beautiful and majestic creatures, vital to the ocean's fragile ecosystem. who are we to take lives such as these? find other ways, without taking lives. how would we feel if it were cat or dog...cat...human cartilage being cosumerized in such an awful way!? Think about our actions and the repercutions they have on the world. Every drop has a ripple effect. Every life has infinite value. It was not humans who put life on this earth. It is not humans who should decide who then loses such a precious gift.

I'm not sure exactly who dropped the ball on the chain from illegal hunting of an endangered species to the sale of the resultant product to whoever wishes to buy it, but it is imperative that it stop now. I will boycott Shopper's Drug Mart, Costco and Holista until this absurd product is taken off the market or their shelves, and will have all of my friends do the same.

Our earth was a gift to us with all it's wonders and beauty. But there is nothing beautiful about stripping the fins of a shark and tossing it back to die as it can't swim and therefore cannot breath. I am hugely in support of The Sea Shepherd's efforts around our world to fight for those who can't and find the abuse of wildlife is horrific. And I have seen Sharkwater - loved it - great job done by Rob Stewart and Sea Shepherd.
