Improve Course Conditions

Ibis golf and country club is a wonderful place to live but our most important assets have deteriorated and therefore our communities future is at risk. Quite simply, our golf courses are in unsatisfactory condition by membership's standards. Every member represented today has/had memberships in other clubs and/or has played many other comparative clubs. We know what our competitors offer because we see it and play it. Management likes to compare Ibis to Mirasol, Ballenaisles, and Frenchman's , etc. . We certainly compete in amenities but not in the quality and maintenance of our golf courses. Yes, we have busy courses, but no busier than most other clubs in season.
Our dissatisfaction has reached a critical point because our management does not recognize the problem. According to their 5/2 email they require bringing in outside assistance to identify and rectify any problems. The problems are very visible and they are tee thru green. We are presenting photo's as examples. These photo's show neglect. Furthermore , the greens may be our most objectionable complaint. Management believes membership likes slow and grainy greens. We are told they run 10.5 on the stemp meter on a regular basis but that is not the truth. For some reason, the greens are properly cut and rolled for special occasions( member/guests, north shore events) but not as a routine matter. This makes us believe that management is aware of proper maintenance but chooses to ignore. Our annual dues have increased significantly over the last 2 years while the courses have deteriorated. Membership is tired of excuses and the golf committee is aware of the grievances but lack the authority to act.

We hope this is a budgeting issue and not a total incompetency issue. However ,it is disturbing given that the closing of the Legend course from April thru November has created a very significant maintenance budget surplus. There is absolutely no reason why the other 2 courses are not in pristine condition.

We expect an adequate golf budget along with a golf management team than can satisfy membership standards to insure our future. Nothing less is acceptable.

Make no mistake, if we continue on this path Ibis will not only lose golf members but will not attract new golf members . Our real estate values are challenged and will no doubt deteriorate further as well.
