Demand Justice for Woman Publicly Violated by St. Louis Officer!

In 2012, a black woman named Kayla Robinson was in a vehicle that was pulled over by St. Louis police in what started out as a routine traffic stop.

On the alleged suspicion that Robinson had quickly stuffed a small bag of drugs down her pants, Detective Angela Hawkins had her removed and then insisted on performing a search of her genitals while in public.

Though Robinson plead, through tears, to be arrested and taken to jail before performing the search, Det. Hawkins instead chose to probe her as at least one male officer looked on. Nothing was found and Robinson was never charged with any crime.

After filing a formal complaint, Robinson spent three years without receiving any update; after inquiring, she was told that Hawkins had been “disciplined” but what that means is unclear. But there is little doubt she is still on the force, potentially violating other citizens.

Tell the city of St. Louis and the St. Louis Police Department that not only does Det. Hawkins need to be fired, she should be tried for criminal sexual assault. What happened to Robinson was unconstitutional and is yet another example of the abuse black Americans endure at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve.
