Justice for Rocky McPherson: End animal violence.

On 1-26-13 my family pet Rocky was shot through the chest from the front, at close range, at night, by my neighbor Trevor Moller while he was intoxicated. Rocky was not an aggressive dog and he would go and hang out with their sheep dog Sadie (in the barn, the same behavior he has done for 4 years, and never an issue). Trevor then took my dog and hid him under a bridge of a dry creek bed along with a bag of empty beer cans

Trevor was supposed to be facing a Felony for mistreatment of animals and a misdemeanor for obstructing an officer. We have been dealing with postponement antics for the last 13 months. My family has been through hell, Trevor has shown absolutely NO REMORSE, and his father actually antagonizes my family at any given opportunity. I attempted to get the media interested when this first happened although it was of no interest to them then. Now the Jury status hearing has been turned into a Plea agreement hearing. The D.A. decided to settle on the agreement of a Misdemeanor charge with 6 months of probation, drug/alcohol counseling, a letter of apology, restitution, community service and if the 6 months is completed without issue the record being expunged.

I hope that this becomes more wide spread to show that the public is not going to tolerate this type of behavior. Our hope is that Trempealeau County deliver severe punishment to set a precedent for this type of crime. Considering this type has been far more common lately. My family’s nightmare is in detail at Justice for Rocky McPherson or www.facebook.com/rocky12613. The contact information to voice your opinion to the D.A. is also on the page.

Thank you in advance for taking time to address this growing issue. It is sincerely appreciated.

Shannon, Jesse, Nikki, Ethan, and Andrew McPherson
