SAVE BEES - DON'T KILL DANDELIONS

Bees are having a hard time surviving due to increased pesticide use, colony collapse disorder, genetically modified crops, and mite infestation. In order to increase their chance of survival, we need to help by ensuring a plentiful supply of food for them. Dandelions are a favorite food source, and are one of the few crops that are available to them all summer long.

While some consider a lawn full of these plants to be "weed infested," they are actually a beneficial food source for our native bees. As a bonus, all parts of the plant are edible for humans and animals alike. They are an excellent source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Vitamin K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Calcium, Iron, Potassium and Manganese.

Bees can survive on a diet consiting entirely of dandelion and clover. These plants contain all essential nutrients and sugar needed to ensure that a colony thrives. Please do not use  herbicides, or other means of eradication, or insecticides on your lawns. These delightful yellow flowers nourish and sustain life for bees. Allow these beautiful bouquets of nature to grow.
