My Story with Child Abuse

This petition is about child abuse and it is about me. I was abused  since I was an infant. I want to share my story with you to raise awareness for those children who get beaten day after day from their parents, who suffer an ordeal every minute of their young lives from the hands of those people that should protect , caress and love them.

In my childhood I got hit a lot with the flat of the hand, belts, wood sticks, electricity cables and I was always sitting in the corner, crying w my weapon and a way to protect me from the harm

I  will tell you  three occurances  from actually more than thousand. The first one happened when I was about 3 or 4, I  got hit by my Dad with  an electrical wire ,I urinated in my pants from the power of the beating, the punishment then was that he put an iron stick on the fire and then burned me in a very intimate place.  The second one was a real electrical wire , and  just because I run away from a boring work ,I  got electrocuted and as usual the corner was my mom and my shelter and my tears were my weapon and they are still until now. The third time was because  my leg got burned at  work by mistake, but it was so painful , I went  back  home to treat it but my Dad hit me, then took the  iron chain and put it around  my neck and dragged me outside in front of every one for three entire  days he tied me to a tree near the street, where I couldn´t sit just stand upright or I would get strangled.Every one could see me and every one could humiliate me. This devilish acts destroyed me ,they broke my sense of respect of being a human being and in communicating  with others .I was smart in school but always afraid to get hit ,afraid from humiliation . I tried to kill myself more than 8 times . I  can't communicate with others. I still feel like that kid. My joy has turned into suffering and still,  I know some one of you will say why I  write about this and why you should  care First ,  I  write because I  want to  live as every one of you. I  have to face this fear and defeat it , second because there are alot of children who suffer and still suffer from this abusive acts ,instead of feeling the love and safety of their parents or family , maybe non of you has suffered from that and maybe I am blessed to survive and being still alive and trying to help others , but  a lot of children  never survive and they die under such abusive acts , or they show their fear and no love to others by hitting and abusing them.  They are not wrong but their childhood was so harsh so they want revenge from the ones they don't care about  but they want to get rid of that feeling by being  abusive against others.

Here is some research :

1-Child abuse and neglect have been shown to cause important regions of the brain to fail to form or grow properly, resulting in impaired development
2-Several studies have shown a relationship between various forms of child maltreatment and poor health. Adults who experienced abuse or
neglect during childhood are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease, lung
and liver disease, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and obesity (Felitti & Anda, 2009)
3-Alcohol and other drug abuse. Research consistently reflects an increased likelihood that children who have experienced abuse or neglect will smoke cigarettes, abuse alcohol, or take illicit drugs during their lifetime. In fact, male children with an
ACE Score of 6 or more (having six or more adverse childhood experiences) had an
increased likelihood—of more than 4,000 percent—to use intravenous drugs later in
life (Felitti & Anda, 2009). 4-Abusive parents often have experienced abuse during their own childhoods. Data from the Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health showed that girls who experienced childhood physical abuse were 1–7 percent more likely to
become perpetrators of youth violence and 8–10 percent more likely to be perpetrators of interpersonal violence (IPV). Boys who
experienced childhood sexual violence were 3–12 percent more likely to commit youth violence and 1–17 percent more likely to commit IPV (Xiangming & Corso, 2007).5-Experiencing childhood trauma and adversity, such as physical or sexual abuse, is a risk factor for borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders. One study using ACE data found that roughly 54 percent of cases of depression and 58 percent of suicide attempts in women were connected to adverse childhood experiences (Felitti
& Anda, 2009). Child maltreatment also negatively impacts the development of
emotion regulation, which often persists into adolescence or adulthood (MessmanMorre, Walsh, & DiLillo, 2010).
6-Cognitive difficulties. NSCAW researchers found that children with substantiated reports of maltreatment were at risk for severe developmental and cognitive problems, including grade repetition (ACF/OPRE, 2012b). In its final report on the second NSCAW study (NSCAW II), more than 10 percent of school-aged
children and youth showed some risk of cognitive problems or low academic
achievement, 43 percent had emotional or behavioral problems, and 13 percent had
both (ACF/OPRE, 2011).
