In the U.K there is a small island call The Isle of Wight. It has a population of around 150,000 which is mainly made up of the elderly. On this island, there is only one hospital to treat everyone. With the Covid 19 outbreak, the IOW is quickly becoming seriously affected by it and its runs the risk of not being able to cope with the demand of medical care. More needs to be done to support the residents on the Island. Pensions cannot get out to get their prescriptions and medication. They also cannot get their food, cleaning and other supplies as stock is limited and deliverys to the island are becoming less frequent. The other problem they are now facing, is when doing online orders for supplies such as hand wash and masks, a lot of companies are no longer delivering to the island either. People are struggling and feel very alone. Yes this is the case all over the world, however this is an island mainly made up of the most vulnerable and those that generally cannot get help, but need it most. This is a terrifying virus and everyone deserve and help they can get. But for some, they have no help and this is what we need to change. Please sign this petition, to try and get more support given to the Isle of Wight, whether it be through more deliveries, more medical care and equipment being shipped over, or more volunteers to help the people that need it most.
